Project background

Half a century of Thailand–Vietnam partnership

The year 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Over five decades, friendship and cooperation have grown steadily, especially in economy, trade and investment. The upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025 gives the business communities of both countries an even stronger foundation.

The project “Upgrading Thai Medical Device SMEs through Business Model Development and Market Research toward International Standards” is run by Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, through its Industrial Technology Assistance Program (ITAP), in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Works. It helps companies raise product quality standards, strengthen market research and expand commercially, building the lasting international competitiveness of Thailand’s medical device industry.

Within the project, Happio Company Limited leads a trade connection initiative introducing 8 selected Thai enterprises in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics that are seeking partners in Vietnam.
